There are many ways to send money to Nigeria. The most common ones are through the Western Union and MoneyGram. But you can also send money to someone in Nigeria through online money transfer services. The online service I use is Worldremit. I have sent money several times through this service and it has never failed. To send money through WorldRemit, you will only need the recipient’s bank account number and phone number. On Worldremit site, you will need to create an account first, then choose Nigeria (the country you want to send money to), as well as your recipient bank and enter the account details (account number and phone number). Your bankcard here in France will be needed to pay the amount you want to send. Wordremit does not accept postal order.
I strongly recommend WorldRemit because
—the exchange rate is fair.
—the fees are low when compared to the Western Union and MoneyGram.
—the recipient’s bank account is credited within 12 hours.
—it is convenient; you don’t need to go out to send money. It is an online transaction, so you can send money through your computer, phone or tablet.
You can also recharge a friend’s phone through Worldremit!
